Where Words Come Alive - The Borders Book Festival started in 2004 with a few speakers and an audience of 400. This has now developed into a 4 day extravaganza with an audience of 25,300 last year.
This is a Book Festival for all ages. You could spend all day there or pop along in the evening and just soak up the amazing atmosphere. Tickets can be booked on line. However, if there is something specific you would like to go to, then just let us know and we can, in some instances, purchase discounted tickets for you.
Prue Leith, The Hairy Bikers, Rory Bremner, Kate Mosse, Robert Peston, Chris Bonnington, Ian Rankin, Neil Oliver, Nina Conti, Sally Magnusson , Mark Beaumont, William Hague are just a few of the well known names who will be speaking.

In addition The Orchard in Harmony Gardens will have some of the finest food and drink from across the Borders. There will be the great beers, wines and craft gins, the return of the Crema Caravan with freshly baked Creme Brulees. Coffees, homemade brownies, delicious cakes, and ice cream from the Over Langshaw Farmhouse ice cream bicycle will also be available.
In the Baillie Gifford Festival Hub in Harmony Gardens you will find the Festival Bookshop and Box Office. Plenty of room for browsing, buying and book signings, and there is a children's area where children can read, do some colouring and also take part in some fun activities.
