You will come to the lodge house and take care crossing the main road, then go straight ahead through a gate into the wood and continue uphill.

Turn left at the road and head downhill and you will now be back on the Borders Abbey Way. Keep going straight ahead and cross the road, again with care, and continue downhill for 50 metres or so and you will see the Visitor Centre on the left and the car park on the right.

In summer you will see yellow rattle and meadowsweet flowers in the fields and in the woods look out for nuthatch, treecreeper, greatspotted woodpecker and other woodland birds.
